MT signals levels dynamic fib cur session
Originally from ticket #3050.
Hi,
I just loaded your framework and I was impressed by the possibilities it offered. I already saw the videos and could get a feel of the ind/strats.
When I opened the MT signal levels dynamic FIBs current session I expected some FIB settings for signals in conjunction with FIB levels,
but there is nothing.
So, please could you explain me how to use this "MT signals FIBs" for trading/filtering using FIB levels?
Thanks in advance,
Anton
Hi
Thank you for your interest.
Be sure to watch this one if you have not:
Getting Started with MT Signals Indicators
MT Signals Indicators
Start off with a chart and add a Signals indicator configure -Trade Setup Mode and see the effects of that.
Getting Started with MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework Signals Indicators
MT signal levels dynamic FIBs current session is based on the
indicator MT Levels Dynamic Fibs Current Session.
Please load both on the same chart so you can see why a trade signal occurs - ie when there is a level crossover.
That one was kind of work in progress - but released as we wanted to see its worth as on component in a collection of all signals indicators on 1 chart - consolidated via a voting threshold system into 1 signal in the MT Signals Generic Trader Pro.
In terms of filters - the MT Signals have a group of filters built into them and that is not one of them - due to its range requirement to be effective.
So really you would ignore its signal until enough range expansion had occurred - the current range would be more meaningful at say 50%+ of its typical.
Signals Trade Setup Filter Range
Range = 50
(Which is reliant on historical data being downloaded for the same days back as your chart...)
Session times...
You can also simply set a session time for when signals are traded -say 9.30 to 11.30am...
using a default 24/7 chart

so we might expect the range to have expanded to maybe 50% of the 24/7 range by then.

That would have worked ok today.... i am not sure on the merits of using that alone - but there is some sense in that approach due to range expansion and the filters used in the configuiraton shown... relating to the current dataserises open and prior close.
Ultimately everything was designed as seperate components that can be mixed together.
If you have a trade plan or idea you want to try please let us know so we can assist you with your experimentation and usage of the MT Framework.
My favourite has to signals from the FibGrid
You can open a Workspace
MT FX Multi Time Frame Analysis and remove add futures or stocks to the Market Analyzer and then click the row - to load up the charts... they need spreading across 2 or 3 monitors
it demonstrates some of the FibGrid signals on a weekly and dailty perscpective on a 30minute and 10 range.
Please let us know if you require further assistance
I am in Manilla Timezone so will be back monday
Have a great weekend
Thank you
Tom
