support resistance levels - TimeZones - Session Templates
Originally from ticket #3339.
Dear Support team,
I live in Sydney and trade in Ninjatrader for futures. If I install the horizontal support and resistance (HTF) or any other indicator, how effectively will it work in my timezone? The reason I am asking is, if the support/resistance calculation involves Open-High-Low-Close or any other data data, it should be based on NewYork opening / closing time and not of my timezone. Please clarify how the indicator deals with this situation (without changing my computer time).
Regards

There are many indicators and many usages of time - for your context -
The indicator uses the session data defined by your chart dataseries session template
For example:
Session Template Use default Instrument Session template
or
Equities RTH
or
Nymex Energy RTH
or
24/5
or
24/7
will all plot the open at different times
So really you are asking if the DataSeries Session Template will stop and start to allow you to plot based on the New York time Zone.

Create a chart
15 Minute - CL Nymex Crude
Session Template Use default Instrument Session template
Chart Template None:
Add the indicator CurrentDayOHL and see what time it opens and closes.
For each session template/instrument try the default, regular trading hours, 24/5 or 24/7
Identify the chart you want to use and add the Indicators
