MicroTrends Indicators & Strategies
Gentlemen, I am working with a US trading group that is working on an
autotrade system that will run on Ninjatrader. I ran across your download
package in the Ninja forum a few days ago and downloaded your framework. We
have some questions about what the various indicators and their parts mean
and would like to get more detail information about the Divergence
indicator, MT2 Trend and MT MA Oscillator. We are interested in
considering these as a part of our trading strategy. I have had difficulty
in downloading your strategies however as they say they will not import as
they are corrupted. Could you forward a clean copy of this for me to
download into N7 for study and evaluation. Also some additional information
concerning the costs of your indicator package would be helpful along with
several brokers names that you would recommend that have low margins and
good data feeds here in the US. Finally if you could cover the time
settings aspects of your indicators as I see some different settings on
these that could be helpful that would be greatly appreciated. I look
forward to further information and contact from you as we are very
interested in looking at how your indicators will work with our strategy .
Please contact me by email at davidepalmer@bellsouth.net or the Southbound

Hi David
The MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework is in beta mode - some features for settings persistance and retrieval - including remote storage and even sharing - by user groups or simply publicy is something being considered for this next release but may have to be deferred.
The final parts get released over the next 2 weeks - so we are very close to a stable feature set.
However as you have indicated we are very short of Documentation: Online help, videos, walkthroughs and suggested settings will be the last part of the project - so by End of Feb to Mid March I envisage we are code complete and with documenation for the NT7 indicators and strategies. Enhancements and any corrective maintenance will then be handled by ongoing updates.
Also an automatic update and install program will be made available.
There are some templates and workspaces - mainly for FOREX but some generic - 10th Pips skew some settings - which you can extract to your PC from ZIP file. Theses show the various modes of the Indicators you mention.
DOWNLOAD
I am sorry you are having difficulties with the download. I have tested and I am unable to reproduce the error.
The current framework only works for NinjaTrader 7.0.0.2 not NinjaTrader 7.0.0.3 as this is a new beta that has effectively broken all existing assemblies.
For the download - You can register on the website and request an emailed version to be sent to you or download from the internet -
There is a guide which covers both the NinjaScript Assembly and the Templates.
http://www.micro-trends.co.uk/downloads/mtntf7/7.0.0.38/MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFrameworkInstallationGuide.pdf
I will forward an email to you from the website - containing all details and files etc.
Pricing
Pricing is due to be anounced shortly via an eccomerce website - the whole framework is £995 - and includes updates and lifetime license but there are other options and rates available.
BROKERS
"MicroTrends Markets" is a new division and Introducing Broker for Vision Financial Markets http://www.visionfinancialmarkets.com/futures/
You can get a free demo of the data through filling in the form here for Futures and Forex if you want both. I chose them over MFGlobal due to the datafeed, transparent commissions, They are a private owned and self clearing FCM - and adverse to small account low margin exposure. SAFE!

Just ignore the NinjaTrader download part if you already have a copy - however you will receive a multi broker license - which allows you to test all the data connectivity - it doesn't matter that you have got a copy and you enter your details again in Step1 as you click through to the datafeed sign up part Step 2
Settings:
As mentioned above I do need to publish some suggested settings and their meaning - however do have a look at the templates to see some modes. I apologise for the lack of info as we prepare to start the documentation phase.
Please let me know if you are still having difficulties.
Many thanks
Tom Leeson
Dear Tom, Thanks for the reply and we can wait until you finish the code and rollout as this does show some good potential. I noticed some session settings and time settings that are in some of the indicators that you have. One of the premises that we have with our autotrade program which trades the 6e and Eur/USd is to trade only during certain times of day. We are working on the ability to have the Ninja program only execute trades 2-4 times a daily around the London open and US open. Do any of your indicators have this potential already built in where it could be specified to only trade during certain windows of time set by the user? I was not sure if that was the case but wanted to ask you while it was on my mind and we were in dialogue. Please advise here and I will do more research on the indicators and Ninja compatibility.
Good luck on your rollout and maybe you could use our group as a beta tester for some of your ideas and this would help both of us to get this going and you grow your product. Also do you have someone stateside that you would recommend as someone familiar with your platform and your Ninja autotrade compatibility? Thanks again and good luck with your exciting project.

Dear Tom, The framework loading issue is because we are using N7 03 version and I assume that will be corrected in the next release. Thanks again for your prompt email and assistance.

Hi David
Unfortunately we are unable to supportNT v3 - for a few weeks to come - we are still building with NT7 v2 so we can get a stable build.
Then we will need to migrate to NT v3.
A seperate project to manage development and testng with NT7 3 will co-incide with its public RC1 release in 4 to 6 weeks times -
The NT v3 has effectively broken the code for NT v2 so you would need to uninstall NT7 v3 and install NT7 v2 to work with any studies.
Thanks for the follow up and I will await your N7-3 public release for testing.

Every Signals Indicator and Strategy share as common set of parameters:
Session Times is one of the most powerful:
I almost exclusively trade the GBPUSD and the same technique works for 6B - I believe the same techniques will be effective for 6e and Eur/USd. With slight adjustment to accommodate any open range timings or daily average ATR.
I trade the premarket/open up to about 11am - any trades open are left to run using a trailing stop and time-based exits.
I normally use the MT3 Hilo strategy with this - which runs at about a 33% win ratio and 1:3.5 to 1:4.5 average risk reward over a month.
I trade alongside the MT3 using the MT Easy Trader - as it allows me to pause and interact the strategy and control trade management and even entry.
You can see what that looks like here:
http://forum.micro-trends.co.uk/topic917-easy-trader-position-sizing-and-trade-management.aspx
I do this by using the session time settings:
For Example:
Session Start Hour: 7
Session Start Minute: 30
Filter out all signals before 07:30AM
Trade from 07:30AM onwards.
Session End Hour: 10
Session End Minute: 50
Filter out all signals after 10:50AM
Trade up to 10:50AM onwards.
Session Mode: 1
trade between 07:30 and 10:50
disallow new trades after 10:50
close all trades outside of the session times - close positions at 1050AM
Session Mode: 2
trade between 07:30 and 10:50
disallow new trades after 10:50
Leave trades outside of the session times to run:
You can run 2 indicators or strategies to produce signals at the time you want
So you could have a second set ready to run at the US times.
Or you can use the session break mode - which allows a period of no trading between the session start and end.
Re:Beta testing
Feel free to grab a copy and make suggestions for products, features or for fixes etc.
Stateside user:
I think Bert might be the guy - however his usage may not consistent with your plans to trade - but he might be good to talk to:
You can send him a message through the forum-
http://forum.micro-trends.co.uk/viewprofile.aspx?UserID=286
You would need to login to send a message.
Many of the tools are so new and so different to the old pack that - many traders are in the same boat waiting for guides and documentation etc... which will be the main focus after the next few weeks of development.
Tom, Sorry to bother you again but one question that came from the group was are each of these indicators an individual strategy that can be used with the Ninja autotrade system and can 2 be combined for a different autotrade strategy? I see the indicator strategy in the forums and would assume that the indicator is what is driving the strategy but wanted some clarification and are you using several combinations to compile a autotrading strategy for the 6E Eur/USD etc.?

Dear Tom, Part of our autotrade strategy is that we have isolated about 8 times of day that are high probability trade zones 4 around London open and 4 around US open. We only put on trades during those times and would like the ability to set up these trade zones / sessions and also to be able to change them to adjust to any market changes that we see occur based on the forex/ algo trading that we spot changes in. We were planning to use this attached program with some potential programming changes to accomplish our time of day trade strategy http://readtheprospectus.wordpress.com/tradetimer-for-ninjatrader-7-installation-and-usage-guide/. Review this and you may already be familiar with this but I thought that it might be a great concept to include into your programming by giving your clients the ability to have more than just 2 sessions / market and be able to adjust the time zones for the trading times that they want their autotrader to place trades. I am sure that I am making it sound simpler than it is for the programming side but since you have already incorporated the sessions that you have an expansion opportunity while you are still getting this started might be something to consider. Give this some thought as it would really increase your strategy potential for the indicators. I hope that this may be an idea that benefits both our groups and again thanks for the prompt response.
Best Regards and really best of Luck for your exciting product and launch.

There is already a GUI and two sessions per indicator/straregy built into the framework I will be releasing details of how to use it in the future
Multiple schedules
Are not currently supported - but you can achieve this by simply having more than 1 strategy or indicator on an nstrument which s set to trade a partcular time..
Bar Tme filter
There is also another technique - filter to be released- whereby you can set a bar timer to trade around for example 10 mins to the hour and 10 past.
4 hour bars
1 hour
30
+- an offset n minutes
Multiple Indicators - consolidated - Signal Aggregation
Many indicators can be traded and combined into 1 signal via the Silver Bullet - Which is waiting the ability for settings for indicators by number---
Each Indicator can be tested in its own right with a separate back test and settings saved as a number.
You can look at it for an idea how it will accomplish it.
When a compatible indicator is used by the Silver Bullet you will be able to recall the setting you have saved.
You can trade on 3 different time frames with many indicators combined.
