NQ and YM parameters - MT Open Range
Originally from ticket #2368.
Hi Support,
Please see the two snap shot (attachments) for YM and NQ.
What parameters should I adjust to improve the trading abilities of the YM
and NQ each please?
(i.e., NQ I would have liked the trade to have started sooner at 10AM on
this trade.
Regarding the YM well, your guess is as good as mine; I have "no clue" what
to try to adjust, but did put the Stop Adaptive Placement to 9 from 0 for
this Open Range strategy; is that correct or may have caused for poor
executions here ? )
Regards,
Duke

What is the definition of a poor execution?
If the trade was signaled and the order placed that is perfect execution.
We need to have some clear details of how you want to trade and we can assist with the features to achieve it.
you need to analyse a systems profile and performance over many months if not years and man dataseries
find what is seemingly sensible and if you want optimise /tweak to see what improves or not
then try that setting over multiple instruments..
The Adaptive placement - means the stop is placed at a technical level -
Try another chart with another strategty the same but:
Stop = 30
Adaptive placement = 0
See the difference where the stop is placed - visaully.
What is your risk apetite
Your image shows a late entry using variable length bars.
open a new chart the same setting
Range 5 or 10 or 20
now see where the entry was and difference in the stop size
try and work to some middle ground of all of the stats.
