Breakout Strategy
Pinned FeaturedDear MicroTrends team
I've been playing around with MicroTrends on Ninjatrader in simulation mode and it looks great!
I'm looking to run a reversion to the mean strategy and test it in simulation on the ASX.
Can I send you the strategy rules (confidentially) for you to suggest a way of running it using MicroTrends?
All the best,
Chris

Hi
We are not able to offer trading or investment advice only usage of the features or settings so suit a certain style or trading plan - for example scalp or mean reversion or trend - taking quick profits - taking a profit a desired area or letting it run really.
and that can be controlled with stops and targets or exit rules
There are several Signals indicators that offer a mean reversion approach
they are a group of indicators with Prefix:
"MT Signals Extreme "
To understand how they work in isolation first is essential
Please see here: https://microtrends.zendesk.com/entries/59737249-Getting-Started-with-MicroTrends-NinjaTrader-Framework-Signals-Indicators
There are 13 videos to watch on that topic.
So then you can chose one indicator and trade its signals, hone. test it and save the settings in a strategy version of.
Then you can chose to pick and mix 1 or many of them together if you wanted in generic signals indicator - such as MT Signals Generic Pro - and see that on a chart - or trade it as the strategy version...

If you already know which strategy you want to use - you can request assistance with settings to trade in the way you envision.
For Breakout Trading - All breakout strategies exists as Signals Indicators
Look for the listing in the chart indicators list : MT Signals Breakout....
Also :Within each signals indicator there is a multiple of choices for price action including price above high etc for example - as 2nd stage confirmation.
Here is a walkthrough of using an Open Range BReakout Strategy
