Automatic Updates Micro Trends NinjaTrader Framework 7 Installation and removal

What is the update alert I see sometimes in NinjaTrader?

The alert you saw and spoke of about the MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework software update, it is designed to notify you that software update has been downloaded to your local PC ready for installation.

Currently updates are checked for and downloaded once per day when you first start a McroTrends indicator or strategy.

The installaton guide shows you how to install the software update - if you read about the automatic updates:

The updates are stored on your local PC - in the following location:
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7

For example
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32

contains version 7.0.0.32 of the MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 as a file,

\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32\MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.zip
This needs to be imported to NinjaTrader:

Workspaces And Templates:
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32\WorkspacesTemplates.zip

TemplatesSetup
These are installed by running the setup file: TemplatesSetup.
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32\TemplatesSetup

There is also readme file
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32\readme

Important Notice:
Please backup your config files,ninjascript files, workspaces and templates from NinjaTrader Control Center
. Click File > Utilities > Backup.
Please Remove existing MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework NinjaScript before Importing New!

To remove an existing NinjaScript:
1. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Remove NinjaScript to open the Remove NinjaScript dialog window.
2. Select the file you want to remove e.g MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.
3. Click the "Remove" button.
4. Now Restart NinjaTrader

To import the NinjaScript download:
1. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Import NinjaScript to open the Import NinjaScript dialog window.
2. Select the file you want to import e.g: C:\Documents and Settings\Dev\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.32\MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.zip
3. Press the "Open" button.

NinjaTrader Workspaces and Templates
You should also find the WorkspacesTemplates.Zip file which contains the latest version of MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework 7's workspaces, chart and indicator templates.
This is a windows ZIP file which is not imported into NinjaTrader, it is extracted to the filesystem as loose xml files.
To install double click the program templatesSetup.exe
The extracted xml files will replace any existing versions of workspace and template files.

Using Workspaces and Templates
You will be able to access the workspaces from the file menu, chart templates can be loaded when creating a chart or by right clicking a within a chart and selecting templates load.
