Installed framework and Ninjatrader indicators dissapeared
Support,
I have tried to get help with no luck from my broker or your website contact e-mail. The easy trader is not so easy to get going. I can download and import it but it doesn't work. All it does is erase all the indicators. I have tried to follow the crazy directions and have saved the ninja indicators but it still doesn't work. Any one there to help?

Yes it's easy when you know how, I am sorry you are having difficulty, a set of help guides and videos are being worked on.
I am not sure what directions you are following or which broker you were dealing or where you sent an email but this is the correct place,
we can start from afresh.
The Easy Trader is an user interface which is in fact a strategy in NinjaTrader - you will need to add it to chart and enable it to use it.
You can also use it automatically alongside any of the MicroTrends strategies - it will popup when you enable one.
It is part of the NinjaTraderFramework - which needs to be downloaded and installed to your machine and then imported to NinjaTrader.

Hi Tom,
I checked out the video but it's worthless for my problem. I have 20 MT programs loaded into my templates which seem to work. That's ok I guess but I don't have the easy trader. The one thing I had ordered is no where to be seen? Thanks!

Ok so it sounds like you got it all loaded and imported to the Framework.
The MT Easy Trader is accessible as a Strategy - called MTEasyTrader - you will need to add the strategy MTEasyTrader to a chart
Then Enable it.
Or you can add a strategy such as the MicroTrendsMT3 and in the general settings set MT Show Easy Trader =True.
I am working on a new release today as that version 7.0.0.40 expires today.
Sorry you are havng difficulty I will create a how to walkthrough later today to show you how to use the MTEasy Trader - I will probably post it to my blog. I will update you when i have done it and the 7.0.0.41 is ready for download.
When you say order, did you mean you have ordered from a reseller/broker or from MicroTrends - i have not seen any orders come through my way as such.

Yes I have received MT from my broker, which had a guy who was helping people with the setup who has disappeared. Probably couldn't get it to work. The only place I have been able to find MT is in the chart templates. It will change the chart with these templates but that's it. There are no strategies loaded. After I import the zip file I lose almost all the indicators. I have to remove the script to get them back, which according to the directions this is normal, but still no easy trader no magic button pops up to open (I wish) nothing. It also seems that you can't just add a strategy you have to create one from scratch. Obviously I am missing many pieces to this jigsaw puzzle. The directions are vague and don't give specific steps. If it was as easy as downloading and importing I would have been done a week ago. Here are the directions I got with the download. Can you tell me If this is the correct one. This would probably
take 5 minutes to fix by phone but it seems my broker couldn't handle it. I hope you guys can! Thanks!!
Overview
This is Part 2 of a 2 part installation:
1. Run the MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework Installer
B. Import the NinjaScript into NinjaTrader via the NinjaTrader 7 control center.
#1 Installer
The installer will setup and install the MTNTF Control Panel, Settings Explorer, Chart,Indicator,Strategy Templates, Settings and deploy
the MTNTF NinjaScript files to the following directory:
\My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.40
Workspaces and Templates
WARNING The extracted xml files will replace any existing versions of MT Workspaces and MT Chart, Indicator, Strategy template files!
#2 IMPORTING TO NINJATRADER
You will need to manually import the MTNTF7 Ninjascript using the following procedure.
Important Notice:
BACKUP
Please backup your config files,ninjascript files, workspaces and templates from NinjaTrader Control Center
1.Click File > Utilities > Backup.
Please Remove existing MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework NinjaScript before Importing New!
REMOVE
To remove an existing NinjaScript:
1. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Remove NinjaScript to open the Remove NinjaScript dialog window.
2. Select the file you want to remove e.g MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.
3. Click the "Remove" button.
4. Now Restart NinjaTrader
IMPORT
To import the NinjaScript download:
1. From the Control Center window select the menu File > Utilities > Import NinjaScript to open the Import NinjaScript dialog window.
2. Select the file you want to import e.g: My Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7\7.0.0.40\MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.zip
3. Press the "Open" button.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues. Yes it seems like you have imported it correctly if you followed the above.
You simply import and use it, however you have an error which has not been reported before.
This error points to a compatabilty fault with NinjaTrader and your machines ninjascript files.
Possibly: It seems to be related to chart templates and workspaces, possibly removing the framework, uninstalling the setup program, then reinstalling without chart templates and workspaces might be the key.
All i can suggest is that for now you remove the framework if you dont fancy trying the above while waiting for a solution, so at least NinjaTrader functionaility is restored.
I will attempt to replicate the issue on a varery of other machines.
To assist in diagnosis:
Please could you tell me what version of OS you are using and if you have installed any other 3rd party indicators or strategies?
Also if you could send the a trace file of the issue - that would be most helpful in diagnosing this issue, I will need the trace files for the same day you experienced the issues:
e.g:
Trace Files:
"My documents/Ninjatrader 7/trace/trace.20110402.txt"

Steve the issue has been replicated and found to be an issue with the installer removing empty folders:
my documents\ninjatrader 7\templates\Chart
my documents\ninjatrader 7\templates\Indicator
my documents\ninjatrader 7\templates\strategy
I have resolved this and will send you a program to fix as part of a new installer

The server i tested on I just found out was very old...so I think this may be due to the fact that you are running NinjaTrader Version 7.0.0.2 Please check and install the latest version of NinjaTrader 7.0.0.40
