Installing the MicroTrends Framework

Originally from ticket #2201.

i'v tried for 3 hours and i still can not import into ninja i have folled the directions you sent.
help please.

You do not import it directly you run it

its a 2 part process
run the file and follow the instructions - then import into NT

You don't understand, I have watched the video and followed the
instructions exactly as described. I did run the file, followed the
instructions and did import. The installer is on my desktop, but it is
still not there...what do you suggest now?

Here is the issue...when I open the control center menu
file>utilites>import NinjaScript>and open the dialog window the microtrends
NinjaTrader zip file is not there. I can confirm the downloader and the
Ninja Trader framwork 7 are downloaded in my programs...where is the zip
file?????? I don' have it so I can't open it...that is the issue her.
Please advice.

Thank you for the details - we can now provide the answer you require.

So to Recap
You have run Part 1 and are having trouble with Part 2
You have run the installer and now need to import the NinjaScript into NinjaTrader.

Then when you are doing Part 2 the import into NinjaTrader but you are unable to locate the folder where the NinjaScript lives.

Problem 1
You can see the NinjaScript File but you are clicking into it?
Solution: Select it and click the open button

Problem 2
You can see the NinjaScript File - the MicroTrends Folder does not exist in your Documents folder?
This is usually because your PC local user does not have the correct admin privileges and so the program was run as a different user so you you need to find the user you installed it as was it administrator?

Solution:
Go to your Start Menu find the folder and copy or note the folder address to use from NinjaTrader Control Center

Start Menu > All Programs > MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework 7 > Shortcut to MTNTF7

Click to open:
Note the folder address

e.g.
C:\Users\[the user]\Documents\MicroTrends\NinjaTrader 7\MTNTF7
Now copy or note this and from NinjaTrader Control center click import and browse to this location
