MT blocking restore of backup
Originally from ticket #3064.
Hi,
The MT Fib Grid calculation routine looks like it is the blocking the Ninja
Trader restore utility of a prior backup. I've tried restore of full or
partial backups so I don't think the issue is with the backup file.
See attached screenshot.
Please let me know what would be the best course of action to get around
this?
Thanks,
Andrew
Using IQFeed but it is always disconnected before Restore is attempted.
Using a blank workspace with no charts and no dataseries
Reproduce by opening NinjaTrader then clicking File>Utilities>Restore and
selecting any of the backup files.
It looks like the FibGrid script within the MicroTrends Framework7 runs on
startup but doesn't either complete operation or locks/doesn't release some
critical memory.
Error message is in the screenshot.
I just verified that I'm running the latest Framework7 7.0.1.67 from the
start of September.
Thanks,
Andrew
I tried using RemoveNinjaScriptAssembly then restarting Ninja but still the
same problem.
I tried deleting the indicator html file using Windows Explorer then
restarting Ninja but still the same problem with the restore.
It seem to be a problem with the MicroTrendsLevelsFibGridHTFSignals.xml
file in the backup. I looked at the file and it is the only one of several
I looked at that was read only so I set its properties to Read / Write. On
re-running "Restore" it progressed further but failed at another file.
Further problems were discovered with the Read Only properties of:
MTTSOrderFlowTrader.xml
MT FX Multi Time Frame Analysis.xml
Once these were corrected the RESTORE IS WORKING PROPERLY.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you for the feedback - it seems that the installer has put some files in place with readonly on them.
If you use NinjaTrader to remove an assembly it will not remove workspaces or templates - you need to use the MT Framework installation program to do that,
Please remove it from the windows control panel.
Remove the framework installation from your PC.
Change or Remove MicroTrends NinjaScript from your PC
• Windows XP, 2003 - open Add/Remove Programs
• Windows Vista + later - open Programs and Features
• Locate MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework
• Select and click Change or Remove/Uninstall
• Follow on screen instructions
OR run the installer for Change and chose no to workspaces and templates so that they are removed -
Then restore:
Then re-install the framework after etc...
If not we will need to speak to NinjaTrader to ask a way forwards with it etc.
Please let us know how you get on
