Uninstall MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 (MTNTF7) from NinjaTrader via Windows Control Panel - and troubleshooting

Walkthrough - Uninstalling and Verifying successful removal of MTNTF7

#1.0 Uninstall all versions on your PC first using the Windows Control Panel,

• Close NinjaTrader  and from your windows menu run or search - launch "Control Panel"

Now locate and select the the MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework 7 > click uninstall and click yes/next all the way until its removed.

• N.B. Do this for all versions you can see listed and installed 

• N.B. If there is no installed program there please go to the next step 1.1.

#1.1 NinjaTrader Post uninstall check all assemblies are removed and there are no Errors

Start NT and check the MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 assembly is removed and there are no errors:
• NinjaTrader Control Center > File > Utilities > Remove NinjaScript Assembly > Select MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 > Remove

View the assemblies - Check for and remove the  MicroTrends NinjaTrader Framework 7 from NinjaTrader if listed.

If you could not see the "MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7"  in the list or you removed it then you are now complete - and can install or import any other programs into NinjaTrader as it is now verified as cleaned with no errors... 

#2 ERRORS - If you were unable to view or remove assemblies due to errors

Remove failed. You have custom NinjaScript files on your PC....

When this scenario occurs preventing viewing or removal of the ninjascript assemblies then you will need to manually check and remove any MTNTF7 files as guided below - if any or it will be related to a different issue in NT7 and guides below will deal how to find out and resolve. 

#2.1 Please Check for and Manually remove MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 files

1. Please go to this location in your Windows Folders:  "My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom"
2. Check for and delete the following MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7 files:
   1. "MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.dll"
   2. "MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.X86.dll"
   3. "MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.X64.dll"
   4. "MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.cs"
   5. "MicroTrends.InstallMate.NT.Utils.exe"
3. Please check and remove and MT SDK indicator and strategy files  in case you have installed the SDK in the past via the installer.

#2.2 Please Check for and remove reference in NT code Editor for  MicroTrendsNinjaTraderFramework7.dll

How to remove code editor reference to metafile MicroTrendsNinjatraderFramework7.dll

1. Open a NinjaScript Indicator for Editing
2. Right Click the Code Editor Code Window
3. Select The References Menu
4. Locate and delete the entry for ...\MicroTrendsNinjatraderFramework7.dll
5. Compile and Test for Errors
6. No Errors - Manual Removal and  Test Successful
7. Errors after compile test 

ERRORS in NinjaTrader

Please follow the instructions below to see where the errors are coming from...This will allow you to debug an indicator/strategy or remove it from your PC. 

If you are wondering why you receive an error when compiling only one indicator, it is because NinjaTrader compiles all indicators and strategies- not just one.

• Open NinjaTrader 
• From the Control Center select the Tools menu--> select the Edit NinjaScript menu item--> select Indicator 
• Select an indicator and double click on it. 
• A new window will appear and you will need to right click in the window and select Compile to compile the indicators. 
• At the bottom of the window a new section will appear where you can find the error locations. 
• From there you have the option to remove the indicator or debug it.

If you are unsure as to what the error is indicating, please send Support a screenshot of the error with the name and description fields clearly readable. 
To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Error Messages Present - If other errors messages are there the above process will have eliminated the MTNTF7 as the issue -  it could be that you referenced the MTNTF7 in a strategy or indicator - you will need to remove to a different folder your custom files that used the MTNTF7 SDK or Indicators- It could be that a 3rd party Assembly is mentioned in the errors if you are missing a reference - or perhaps you have a NinjaScript Code Error.
