Strategy Money Management
Originally from ticket #2365.
Can you please tell me what the colors of the vertical markers mean for the Strategy Money Management section?
Blue, Gold, DarkRed
Also, if I wanted to use only a daily 5am to 1pm session, do I only need to set Session Money Man Mode = 1
I don't understand when it is best to use the parameter for the Session Trading Lock Reset Mode or if I need to for a standard session.
Thank you,
Dave Dean
This area is being reworked and released this week
Colour stay the same
Blue is a reset
Red is stoploss hit trading lock
Gold is profit target trading lock
If you define trading times using Strategy Session Times - a user defined trading session
Session end hour 13
Session end minute: 0
Session start hour 05
Session start minute: 0
session mode =1
so if you are locked out you will be enabled/resert at 05AM
you can reset the money management lockout at the start of it
Session Trading Lock Rest mode = 0
or you can chose to use a normal dataseries sesison time as the reset point
eg 24/5 would be at midnight
Session Trading Lock Rest mode = 1
so if you are locked out you will be enabled/reset at 00.00 on the first bar of the session

Thank you for your reply...
I have the exact same settings on 12 charts, but I am only getting the blue reset line only on 2 of those 12 charts even though they are all set from a start time 5am to an end time of 13pm.
Why would they all not have the blue line to show a reset at 5am?
Thanks again.

OK, I am starting to follow you... when you say locked - are you referring to the previous session from the previous day? I would like the reset to happen everyday at 5am... should I be using Session Trading Lock Reset Mode=1 to guarantee a 5am reset?
Thank you very much!

You can reset the money management lockout at the start of your user defined session:
Session Trading Lock Rest mode = 0
So if you are locked out you will be enabled/reset at 05AM = to allow new trades
if you are not locked out nothing will need to reset
To visaulise the PL for the user defined session:
General Param:
MT User: MTDS Info Money Display Mode=1

Thank you very much.
If I reach 50% of the Session Target Cash by the end of the session on Monday which means I was not locked out on Monday, will I still start Tuesday 5am as a new session? The only difference is there will not be a blue reset bar? In other words, is the blue reset bar just a reminder that your previous session was locked out?
I appreciate your time helping me to understand how this works, because it is a very nice feature.

If you are locked you will need reseting
A blue vertical occurs when a reset has occured.
Depending on your choice - this will happen in your user defined session start
or the chart dataseries sesison templates firstbar of session
as configured by Param:
Session Trading Lock Rest mode = 0
or
Session Trading Lock Rest mode = 1
