MTDS Trailing Stop Stetting
Originally from ticket #2869.
Tom,
Can you please help me verify/correct the Trail Stop settings. Please see attached.
My Target is 10 ticks, Stop 15 ticks
My trade size is 2 lots.
1st Tartget out at 10 ticks, 2nd target on Trail exit
I would like the trail to Kick in as soon as the 1st target is taken out and the trail stop initiated at 5 ticks behind....
Are the settings I have going to behave that way?
Also, what about if I want to tighten the trailing stop from 5 ticks to 3 ticks if the second target goes through 20 ticks? What would I need to do...
Any pic help with settings for the latter (and former, if incorrect) be very helpful
Thanx

No it wont as you have an ATR Median trail stop set.
trailing stop type = 4 - (change to 3)
trail trigger =10
trail offset 5
so after 10 ticks it will trigger and follow the trails stop 4 - ATR Median middle band - +/- the offset.
You can see what it does historically - pink dots - to understand how it trails in before live etc.
I think you are saying trail by price + offset.
Trail Trigger = the same as target
Trailing Stop Type = You can see the parameter value listed for that in the description for the parameter in the pane below bottom right - you can resize it to read it all vertically - you can do the same for any parameter click and select the parameter you want to read about etc..
Chose from:
1 Low/High 2:Prev Low/High, 3:Price, 4:ATR Median, 5:ATR Median Bands Low/High
Trailing Stop Type = 3 would fit trailing price - however be aware this trails price every n milliseconds not on each tick to save performance .
General Param:
Trade Engine - Management Interval can be decreased to speed this up... if need be... 0.25 for example
Trail offset= 5
onbarupdate - at t2 in your code set the Trail Offset= your new value 3
on a new trade remember to reset to the old value
this.TrailStopOffset = N
